What do we know?

 Isaiah 40: 21-23 

 

The Bible askes us some question. 

Isaiah 40: 1 

Have ye not known?  (Known what?) 

Have ye not heard?     (Heard what?) 

Hath it not been told you from the beginning? 

Have ye not understood from the foundation of the word?                  (Told what? Understood what?) 

 

The book of Psalm doesn’t ask but tells us. 

Psalm 44:1 

We have heard with our ears!     (Heard what?) 

Our Fathers have told us!            (Told us what?) 

 

The Apostle Paul Explains Some of this from Mars Hill in Acts. 

Acts 17:24 

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; verse 25, Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needs any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; Verse 30, And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now cammandeth all men every where to repent: 

 

This is what we have known and heard and have been told and understand. 

 

Romans 10:9, 10 

  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  verse 10, for with the heart man beleiveth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 

Ezekiel explains how salvation works

 We have read in the Bible where Jesus says that we must be born again.

John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 

The Bible says that all have sinned.

Romans 3:23  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

And also that the wages of sin is death.

Romans 6:23  “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Notice in this verse that the Bible says the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So God’s word says that if we call upon the name of the Lord we can be saved.

Romans 10:13  “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

So, as God’s word says we can confess the name of Jesus and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead thus we can be saved.

Romans 10:9,10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

And then the Bible says that we become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17  “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Here is how all this works.  The word of God explains this in Ezekiel chapter 36.

Ezekiel explains That God will take out our stony heart of sin and give us a fleshly heart that loves Him.

Ezekiel 36:26  “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”

Then Ezekiel explains that God will put His spirit in us so that we can walk in His statutes.  We will be able to walk in righteousness.

Ezekiel 36:27  “And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”

Ezekiel explains that then we can go to heaven to be with Him.

Ezekiel 36:28  “And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.”

Jesus says in God’s word that he is coming back to take us to our new home.

John 14:3  “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

Fear Not - Hebrews 13: 5, 6

I) Fear Not Man
A) God will never leave us Hebrews 13:5
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
1) God will go with you to fight for us. Deuteronomy 20:4
“For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”
2) Put your trust in God. Psalm 56:4
“In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”
3) The Lord is on our side. Psalm 118:6
“The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”
B) We are established and sealed by the Lord.
2 Corinthians 1:21-24
“Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth. Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.”
II) Fear not for we are strengthened.
A) Strengthened by the hand of the Lord. Ezra 7:28
“And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.”
B) We receive Power, love, and a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
1) Be not ashamed. 2 Timothy 1:8
“Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;”
III) Fear not and work for the Lord.
A) Fear not and work God is with you. Haggai 2:4,5
"Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts: According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.”
B) Fear not and confess Jesus. Luke 12:6-8
“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:”

Keep your focus on Jesus in 2018

All through Christmas we have been focused on the reason for Christmas and that is Jesus. Christmas is over and we are looking at the new year.

Let's keep our focus on the Lord. Having your eyes on the Lord. Your eyes of understanding. Ephesians 1:17-19 "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,"

The wise men had their eyes on Jesus as they followed the star. Matthew 2:1,2 "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."

Paul's traveling brothers had their focus on Jesus. Colossians 4:14, Philemon verse 24, & 1 Timothy 1:2 "Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. - Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers. - Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord."

Think about when your eyes of understanding were opened. And when your eyes of understanding of the meaning of Christmas. When you called upon the name of the Lord and was saved. Or have you done what the Bible says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"

How easy it is to lose our focus on Jesus.

The wise men lost their focus when they got to Jerusalem. They relied upon their own understanding that a king was born so they went to where they thought a king would be. Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." They were following God and his star, then they looked to man, and after being set back on track they were back following the star again, which they could have stayed following. Matthew 2:9 "When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was."

Demas took his focus off Jesus. 2 Timothy 4:10 "For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia."

But Timothy kept his focus on Jesus. 1 Timothy 6:20 "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:"

How do we keep our focus on Jesus?

  1. Hide his word in your heart. Psalm 119:11 "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."

  2. Gird up the loins of your mind. 1 Peter 1:13 "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"

  3. Think on Good things. Philippians 4:8,9 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you."

  4. It takes sacrifice. Romans 12:1 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

Why in the world would anyone want to read the King James Bible?

The King James Bible is written in a poetical format. For memorizing verses, being poetical is a big help for a person’s mind. God’s word in history has undergone 7 trials from 1300 to 1599. These 7 trials are listed here noting that the first 5 trials were met with death and persecution. John Wycliffe translated the original writing of the Bible content into the 1st English Bible. Persecuted for his faith, he died in 1384. John Huss deemed that the translation of John Wycliffe was indeed accurate. Huss was burned at the stake for his faith in 1415. William Tyndale, a master of language, translated the New Testament into English. He was burned at the stake for his faith in 1536. His was the first Bible to be copied with a printing press. Miles Coverdale assisted William Tyndale in printing the Bible, and carried on Tyndale’s work after Tyndale was imprisoned. Coverdale was exiled multiple times for his beliefs. John Rogers, under the pseudonym "Thomas Matthew", finished Tyndale’s work and printed the entire bible in English. He was executed for his belief in 1555. The Great Bible was the first English Bible to be authorized by King Henry VIII. The Geneva Bible was the first mass printed English Bible for the people. The King James Bible was authorized by the King of England (James) in 1604. At this time, 47 scholars divided into 6 groups to confirm the accuracy of the previous translations. Each group studied a section of the Bible. These 6 groups came together to take a seventh and final look at the translation. With all in agreement that the translations were accurate, they published the King James Bible of 1611. No other translation has been created that uses this historical biblical lineage of the King James Bible. Who am I to say these great men, who lost their lives translating God’s Word, were inaccurate? The Scripture says in Psalms 12:6 ‘The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.’

The day of the Zombie!

There is a day of the Zombies coming. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I shall not see the day the zombies walk the earth. In all reality there is coming a 5 month period of time that God will remove death from the earth. There will be creatures released during the time of the tribulation and they will be commanded to torment humanity and as you read these verses God orders them not to kill people, but only torment them. As seen in verse 6, the people will seek to die and will not be able to. Let's think about this. Seeking death? I could think of a few ways to seek death; jump off a high bridge, stand in front of a train, strap a bomb to me and set it off. Look at what is written in the word of God. They will seek death, and shall not find it. Hmmm, they will desire to die, but this death will flee from them. Analysis, if someone seeks death and stands in front of a train, but death flees from them, then what do you have? One undead mess. Revelation 9:5, 6 "And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them."

Life After Death. What if?

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. The afterlife, Over Jordan, Heaven... What is it like? What if...What if someone doesn't believe in Jesus? The Bible gives us a few personal accounts of what... of what... Hell is like. The Bible refers to man as a Worm; Job 25:6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm? Psalm 22:6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. Isaiah 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. And the Bible makes a reference to people in Hell; Mark 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Jesus gives us a personal account of someone who dies and wakes up in Hell. Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luke 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. Luke 16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. The account that Jesus is referring to is not someone in the future, but someone who has died and has entered into the afterlife. Jesus is the way to heaven. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: If we do not trust in Jesus then he will say to us; Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Life After Death

What is it like? The Bible gives us a few personal accounts of what Heaven is like. Adam - The first, I would like to say, is Adam; though his witness may not exactly be Heaven, but a likeness unto it. Adam saw a perfect world. Genesis 2:9 "And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil." Genesis 2:10 "And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads." Revelation 22:1 "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb." Revelation 22:2 "In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." Revelation 22:3 "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:" Isaiah - The second I would like to mention is Isaiah. Isaiah saw the glory of God of which we may see when we "cross Jordan". Isaiah 6:1 "In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple." Isaiah 6:2 "Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly." Isaiah 6:3 "And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory." Isaiah 6:4 "And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke." Stephen -Third is Stephen who also saw the glory of God when he looked into heaven, the place that he was about to go to. Acts 7:55 "But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God," Acts 7:56 "And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God." Note that this was not Abraham's bosom, it ended at the resurrection of Jesus, but the arms of Christ, whom Stephen was about to personally meet. Paul -Then there was Paul. Paul was caught up to the third heaven. 2 Corinthians 12:2 "I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven." 2 Corinthians 12:4 "How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter." The words he heard while there are beyond utterance. I can't imagine what he heard nor what he saw. Paul having been to Heaven and as we read with Stephen's testimony, when we that believe are absent from the body, we are present with Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." John - Lastly there is John, whom Jesus talked to directly. It is only with God's help that we would be able to understand what lies after the grave. John 3:12 "If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?" We may often think of the golden streets, but that is in the end, what of today? If one has received Jesus into their heart and was to die today what lies beyond the grave? God tells us some tidbits, though they still are not fully comprehendable. Jesus explained about beyond the grave that when we die we, that believe, will have an angelic escort. Luke 16:22 "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;" And he explained that we will be comforted. Luke 16:25 "But Abraham said, "Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented." John shows us beyond the grave in revelations. First we see the throne of God, Revelations 4:2 "And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne." And we see Jesus! Revelation 5:5 "And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. " Revelation 5:6 "And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain..." Surely we the saints will fall down before Christ and like the elders we should bow and sing praises. Revelation 5:8 "And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints." Revelation 5:9 "And they sung a new song,..." Though the sayings of John are futuristic, we can apply these at our death being absent from the body and present with the Lord.

Coments on 1 John 5:7, 8

--This verse shows Jesus is God and able to forgive sin. 1 John 5:7 'For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.' --This verse shows Jesus is a man, able to be our redeemer, the perfect lamb and sacrifice. 1 John 5:8 'And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.'

The Lords Prayer

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to Pray.  Jesus taught them to pray after this manner.  He opens with Matthew 6:9, 10

When we pray, we need to acknowledge God for who he is.  He is the Creator, and he is Holy, we are to praise God.  Open your prayer with reverence and praise to God.

Matthew 6:9, 10 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

In our prayer, we should go into thanksgiving. Thanking God for his provision, and guidance over us.

Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

As we pray and praise God and being thankful, we need to ask for forgiveness and confess our sins.

Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

After our confession of sin, we can make our requests known unto God. Pray for others as in the end of verse 12 forgiving our neighbor.

Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.


In ending our prayer there should be reverence to God in closing. It is God's kingdom, and it is in his power and give God the glory.

Comments on 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

The man of sin in this chapter is described by Paul as the Anti-christ. His coming is after the working of Satan that is that he will have the power of Satan to do these things, see 2 Thessalonians 2:9, 10 2Th 2:9 “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,” 2Th 2:10 “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” In verse 10 we see that he has power to deceive the people who are lost "that perish" that received not the love of ethe truth, that they might be saved. These people have not received Jesus. One may think that when the rapture takes place and they see that their loved ones are gone and they have been left behind that they, having been told of Jesus, would then receive Jesus into their heart. Or one may say that they will wait until then to receive Jesus. This will not be possible! See the next verse in this chapter, verse 11 2Th 2:11 “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:” Because of this, that they received not the truth, God will send them strong delusion that they will believe whatever lie the anti-christ tells them, thus they will not be able to come to heaven, as stated in the next verse, verse 12. 2Th 2:12 “That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” These people had their opportunity to receive Jesus and have rejected Jesus and they will be damned and not be able to enter into the Kingdome of God.

Comments on Luke 16:22-28

"Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luke 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. Luke 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. Luke 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Luke 16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: Luke 16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment." God tells us of life in Hell A) People will have sight; Luke 16:23 The rich man saw Abraham. B) People will have speech; Luke 16:24 The rich man cried and said to Abraham C) People will have knowledge; Luke 16:24 The rich man called Abraham and Lazarus by name. D) People will have feeling; Luke 16:24 The rich man wanted to have relief. E) People will have hearing; Luke 16:25 The rich man heard Abraham speak. F) People will have memory; Luke 16:25 The rich man’s memory was refreshed by Abraham. G) People will have thought; Luke 16:27 The rich man thought about his father’s house. H) People will have concern; Luke 16:28 The rich man was concerned about his brethren coming to Hell.

Comments on Luke 16:22, 23

Luke 16:22: “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
Luke 16:23: And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”
From my studying of the Bible, I can say Abraham's bosom, was a resting place for the saints of the Bible. In this caption of Luke we see the rich man (whom God does not name) and the beggar (whom God calls by name, "Lazarus." Luke 16:20 Lazarus is taken to Abraham's bosom and he is seen by the rich man from Hell. Luke 16:23
I can also say that this resting place is paradise. I believe this is the same place Jesus was referring to while on the cross. Luke 23:43 “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise."
I also believe that this is the very place (Abraham's bosom, Paradise) that Jesus goes to at his crucifixion when he goes into the depths of the earth in Ephesians. Eph 4:9 "Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?"
Putting this together we can conclude that this particular place, Abraham’s bosom, must have been in the depths of the Earth along with the place we call hell. How can this be? I can not fully understand how hell can be in the center of the earth with all the molten lava. But this is a place of spiritual torment. Mark 9:43.
This particular place, (Abraham’s bosom, Paradise) does not exist today, nor has it existed for about 2 thousand years. I believe when Jesus died and went to paradise for three days, when he left paradise (Abraham's bosom) he brought all the saints up from there and took them to heaven with him. Let us take a look at Matthew. Mat. 27:52,53 “And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many." This brings us to Paul’s statement in 2 Corinthians 5:8 “...to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

Comments on Romans 10:9, 10

Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:10, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Through the scriptures we are told how to be saved and have the privilege of being able to go to heaven. It is believed by many that this is a hard task to perform. The apostle Paul explains it clearly here in Romans 10:9, “...confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead.” Then Paul makes a statement, "Thou Shalt Be Saved.” You may want to know saved from what? I will start with saved from your sin, saved from Hell, saved from death, saved from God's wrath, etc.
The apostle Paul analyzes the statement from verse 9 in Romans 10:10, “With the heart people believe unto righteousness.” One could say that they believe and become righteous. By believing, God puts Jesus' righteousness onto us.
With the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Confessing with the mouth is a verbal act, or a form of communication, acting upon ones belief. Again, as described in verse 9, confessing that Jesus is, or confessing your sin to Jesus, is a verbal acknowledgement of Jesus unto salvation.
I will end with Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Comments on Genesis 1:1-5

(Genesis 1:1) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
(Genesis 1:2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
(Genesis 1:3) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
(Genesis 1:4) And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
(Genesis 1:5) And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
My comments on Genesis 1: 1-5 shall start with verse five. As we read chapter one, God is describing the things that He created on each day.
In Geneses 1:5 God calls this the first day. Let us look at a couple of things here. First, Moses is the author of this book as agreed, concluding that God would be talking to Moses on terms that he would understand. Thus, one day is one day according to Moses. Second, considering God is describing his creation on each day as noted in Chapter one. For each day we must ask, “What did God describe on day one that he has created?”
In Genesis 1:3 & 4 God describes the creation of light. In verse 4 it is specified that the light is called day and the darkness is called night. This is obvious, but what did God create on day one? Did he only create light?
In Genesis 1:1 & 2 God describes in the beginning he created the Heaven and the Earth and that the earth was without form, and void. In the beginning, what is the beginning? With God there is no beginning. There is no time. But for Moses, God says in the beginning, so the beginning of time is then on day one. Therefore, God is describing the things that He created on day one in the beginning of time. So God created the Heaven and the Earth and also light on day one.

Comments on Matthew 18:2-6

Matthew 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Verse 2 a child is being called to Jesus as a demonstration. This child is set in the midst of the disciples.
Verse 3 is Jesus explaining that we are saved through faith, converted by child like faith, becoming like a child to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Verse 4 is becoming humble, humble as a child is humble, with children there seems to be non greater or lesser, they are all equals in their site and thinking, and this is compared to heaven. Who is greatest in heaven Paul, John the Baptist, or the widow woman with 2 mites? We all have our favorite.
Verse 5 is a call to receive a child. Here is this verse seems to be receiving a person that has become as a little child and we are to receive them, by doing so we receive Jesus, not unto salvation, but as one of the family. As we see in other scripture as well, the receiving of a child is encouraged; see Matthew 19:14 and children should be allowed to come to Jesus.
Verse 6 is a warning to those who offend a little one, whether it is a child in faith who has become a child and became born again, and if you please a child that wishes to receive Jesus as savior. To offend a little one is worse, as described in this verse, worse than having a millstone tied around their neck and cast into the sea to drown. Ananias had to make this choice when he was instructed to go to Saul and lay his hands on him; See Acts 9:13.

Comments on Matthew 7:21, 22

Matthew 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 7:22 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?”

In these verses, the Bible is stating that not every one will enter into heaven. Even if someone calls Jesus Lord, and in verse 22 Jesus even states that those who say they prophesied in His name and even cast out devils or even have done many wonderful works. Just because these people have claimed these things does not give them the credentials to enter into heaven.

In these verses, Jesus tells who can enter into heaven. Look again at verse 21. He that dose the will of God, which is in heaven, can enter into heaven.

Let's look at the will of God. These people describe doing the will of God; prophesying, casting out devils, good works. The Bible only mentions one will of God that entitles a person to enter inter into heaven. John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Those that are born again, that have asked Jesus into their hearts. These are the ones that can enter into heaven.

Comments on Hebrews 6:4-6

‘Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,’
Hebrews 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Hebrews 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

The first part I would like to point out her is the term “For it is impossible for those”.

The writer stops with that though and then lists what type of people who those are. The list of who is listed in tese verses 4 & 5. Those who were once enlightened, Those who have tasted of the heavenly gift, Those who were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Those who have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the world to come.

In verse 6 the writer picks up again were he stopped. He generalizes the who again, For it is impossible If they (the who) shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance. It is impossible to renew again(save them again if you please).

The writer also states in verse 6 why it is impossible to renew them again, because they would have to crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him (Jesus) to an open shame.

Comments on 2 Timothy 3:16

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The Bible says all scripture, that is to say from Genesis to Revelation, is given by inspiration of God. This scripture (all the scripture) is profitable. We can benefit from it, gain from it, their is profit in it. There is a list given here in which one can profit in by the scripture and that is:

The scripture is profitable in doctrine. We can build our doctrine from the scripture, The scripture can teach us what God wants us to believe; not what we want to believe mind you, but what God wants us to believe. In this verse God is saying we need a doctrine. The scripture is profitable in reproof. Yes, believers need conviction and we need to be convicted of our sins. This brings into play correction. The scripture is profitable in correction. The scripture tells us what is right and what we need to do. The Bible is at a 7th grade reading level. We can read the Bible and apply it to our lives to form our life to the Bible. Example: ‘Thou shalt not kill’ Exodus 20:13 and Jesus took it deeper to be angry with someone without cause is wrong. The scripture is profitable for giving us instruction in how to live our life righteously. When we want to know what the right thing to do is, go to the scripture. The Bible often says this is right and that is wrong, regardless how we feel wrong is wrong and right is right.

The scripture teaches these things so that we can be perfect, perfect mind you in Christ, and thoroughly furnished, having the equipment needed, the knowledge needed, to do good. Unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Comments on Matthew 7:21, 22
